An interpretation of an African mask, “Kode” can also be observed as a depiction of the duality of human nature. The black is juxtaposed to white, just like the public persona is in constant friction with the hidden spirit. This graphic piece marks the constant fight between the good and the evil, the positive and the negative a person, while the composition and the rounded lines signify that the two must coexist within.
