Dancers V is a ballet dancers art print from late in Paola Minekov's Dancers series, where she explores the depths of blue, her signature colour.
The figures still serve the geometric composition, but here they are given more volume. Stripped of romantic costume, they show only movement and gesture: dance at its purest. The facets seen at the start of the series have almost dissolved, melting into each other, and the texture gives way to smoother transitions that bring out the depth of the blues and the purity of the abstract motion.
