Dancing Houses of Amsterdam is an Amsterdam wall art print by Paola Minekov.
Found along a canal behind Rembrandtplein, the Dancing Houses of Amsterdam are one of the most picturesque views in the city. The houses were originally built on wooden stilts, which let them wobble over time as if they were dancing. Most have since been reinforced, but in Paola’s painting they still dance, in a lively composition of crossing diagonals and curves.
Painted in complementary blues and yellows from drawings made on location, the work is a record of Paola's time living in the Netherlands as a student. It brings colour and charm to a living room, hallway or kitchen, and makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who has visited or lived in Amsterdam.
